Monitoring Temperature Inversions
The weather networks below have started monitoring, or will soon, the conditions which make temperature inversions likely and displaying that information in near real-time.
While detecting temperature inversions is important, observational data are limited. Most weather data networks only measure temperature at a single height. However, inversion monitoring requires temperature sensors at multiple heights above the ground and computing temperature differences to determine if an inversion is present.
